Welcome to ...

My Country Roads

Jerry L Dr. Dools Dooley, PhD, NCC, NCSC

Welcome to my ePortfolio and a glimpse into who I am, where I come from, and what drives me down the roads of life. I chose the theme “Country Roads” to serve as a reminder of the all the roads that have led me to where I am today. Some roads were pleasant and some were very difficult, but all have helped to make me who I am.

Life is a journey and as long as I live, I will continue to travel down roads in an effort to grow.

Please take time to look around and never hesitate to ask for directions.

You are never lost … as the drive is better than the destination!

Goals ...

Looking as to how best facilitate someone’s growth as they desire, my career goal is to teach, counsel, and research from a meaningful and multicultural perspective.

To Achieve Those Goals ...

My desire is to be ethically and culturally competent, position others to achieve their dreams, and invest in the next generation of helping professionals through education.

Music legend John Denver helped bring West Virginia into the international spotlight with the heart-warming song called “County Roads.'“ Known to every Mountaineer, Country Roads has become a positive symbol for life in this part of Appalachia. To me, Country Roads depicts how I got to where I am … the beautiful people who have helped me become who I am …. and those who are still impacted by the beauty of the drive that I take. These Country Roads are not just for me … or for Mountaineers … but anyone who wants to enjoy the journey of life as much as or more than the destination once we arrive! Country Roads is a symbol of becoming … becoming who we want to be!
